THE GOVERMENT DECREES AS MANDATORY THE NUTRIONAL LABEL IN THE FRONT PACKAGES FOOD
Last August, the Uruguayan government signed a decree which stablished that the label in the front of the packages of food is mandatory
This label is mandatory when the food exceed the allowed values of sodium, sugars and fats.
In view of the above, the customer can view in the front of the packages of food a label with an octagonal design, black background and white border, containing the following expressions: “EXCESS FATS”, “EXCESS SATURATED FATS”, “EXCESS SODIUM”, “EXCESS SUGARS”, as appropriate.
