Mónica Bonnett is an associate at Posse Herrera Ruiz. Her professional practice focuses on health records, litigation, unfair competition, and piracy associated with intellectual property (IP).
Her experience includes filing, processing, and defending patents, industrial designs, and utility models, IP litigation, unfair competition associated with IP, piracy, and health records. Due to her professional career managing large patent portfolios from the United States, Asia, and Europe, as well as regulatory matters, Mónica is the person in charge of developing business relationships with international clients.
She has advised Asian, European and American clients in various fields of technology: biotechnology, life sciences, plants, telecommunications, software, consumer products and pharmaceuticals. Similarly, she has participated in technology transfer negotiation processes between Colombian and multinational companies.
Likewise, she has provided her services to Universities, the Colombian Government and Colombian companies in the organization and protection of intangibles through a variety of consulting services among which are confidential information protocols, industrial property and innovation diagnoses, among others.
Before joining Posse Herrera Ruiz, she worked as an associate in the intellectual property departments of law firms and worked as an Advisor to the Office of the Superintendent of Industry and Commerce on patent matters. In her work experience in the United States, she developed business and relationships with companies, American law firms, technology hubs and the Office of Economic Development for Latin America of the City of San Francisco, advising them for the protection of their intellectual property intangibles in the 23 countries from Latin America.
Mónica is a lawyer from the Universidad del Rosario and a specialist in Competition and Consumer Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia.
