Consequently, the practice of re- registering UK and EU trademarks will come to an end on July 31<sup>st<\/sup> of 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the new law, the Cayman Islands Intellectual Property Office will only accept national applications, filed by a registered agent. Unlike old applications, new ones will be examined on absolute and relative grounds and published for opposition purposes within 60 days for third parties to oppose.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under the new law there are no intent to use requirements and there is no procedure to revoke a trademark on grounds of non- use.
