{"id":8762,"date":"2017-07-14T17:13:41","date_gmt":"2017-07-14T22:13:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/phrdev.pixelpro.website\/novedades-categoria\/colombia-203\/"},"modified":"2020-10-28T07:26:19","modified_gmt":"2020-10-28T12:26:19","slug":"colombia-203","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/phrlegal.com\/en\/legal-bulletin\/colombia-203\/","title":{"rendered":"COLOMBIA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>COLOMBIA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>COLOMBIA ENTERS THE ACCELERATED PATENT-GLOBAL PPH PROCESS NETWORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Starting July 6<sup>th<\/sup> 2017, Colombia will be part of the NETWORK OF ACCELERATED PATENTS-GLOBAL PPH NETWORK composed of 22 countries from Europe, North America, Asia, Oceania, and now South America.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Due to the above, patent applicants who have obtained protection in Colombia may request that the same application be examined in any of the countries in the global PPH network.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The procedure offers a number of advantages, the most important being that the offices of the countries participating in the network recognize themselves as peers in relation to the essential requirements for the patentability of an application, and that the applicants can use the examination made by a first Office so that a second one is made on that basis, supplying some technical arguments that allow to streamline the process and generate less costs.
