<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>COLOMBIAN TRADEMARK OFFICE PUT INTO OPERATION EXPEDITED TRADEMARK FORMAL EXAMINATION <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As of October 1<sup>st<\/sup> 2018, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, put into operation the Accelerated Form Exam for the registration of trademarks and commercial slogans, in order to reduce the time elapsed between the filing and the publication of the application of the sign in the Industrial Property Gazette<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Accelerated Exam option is available only through the Virtual Office and has no additional cost, simply at the time of the online filing, the applicant can choose between the conventional filing, or the Accelerated Exam.<\/p>\n<p>Resolution No. 70252 of 2018 established the following special conditions for requesting the Accelerated Exam: it only applies for applications for traditional trademarks: nominative, figurative or mixed trademarks and\/or commercial slogans; the pre-approved list of products must be used by the applicant; and, the Examination cannot be requested if a discount on the official fees is being
