Diana Salazar is a director at Posse Herrera Ruiz. Her professional practice focuses on natural resources and energy as well as insurance and reinsurance matters.
She has worked in the mining sector in Australia and Colombia, advising mining companies on various exploration and exploitation projects, with an emphasis on contracts for the sale and purchase of mining assets, option agreements, contracts for the construction and commissioning of mining projects—such as EPCM, EPC, works and supply contracts—operation and maintenance agreements, and agreements with communities within the projects’ area of influence, as well as on regulatory matters and compliance with requirements arising from mining titles.
Additionally, Diana advises clients on insurance and reinsurance matters, particularly on structuring insurance requirements for project financing and various types of contracts, reviewing policies and analyzing coverages, claims and denials, drafting insurance policies, conducting coverage audits across different industries, and regulatory issues.
Before joining Posse Herrera Ruiz, she was Legal Manager of the Colombian branches of Tigers Realm Minerals Pty Ltd and Tigers Realm Coal Ltd., legal counsel to Uranium One Australia Pty Ltd in Adelaide, Australia, and a senior associate at a local law firm specializing in insurance and reinsurance advice.
