Andrés Montoya is a partner at Posse Herrera Ruiz, where he leads the real estate, urban planning, and agribusiness projects team.
He leads the structuring, development, and closing of transactions involving commercial, logistics, industrial, tourism, residential, and urban and social infrastructure real estate assets in the country’s main cities. He has acted on behalf of domestic and foreign investors, real estate funds, developers, financial institutions, owner families, and builders. He has supported the acquisition, management, and development of agribusiness, mining, and natural resource projects in a wide range of regions across Colombia. He has represented domestic and foreign clients in judicial and arbitration proceedings involving contractual disputes, and has led large-scale due diligence processes. He actively participates in the negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, construction contracts in all their forms, complex lease agreements, and, in general, agreements involving real estate assets.
Andrés is recognized as a leader (Band 1) in the Colombian real estate practice by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500. He holds a law degree from Universidad de Caldas, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from McGill University, and a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. He has served as a university professor of contract law at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
