Alejandro Estrada has been an attorney at Posse Herrera Ruiz since 2022. His professional practice in Intellectual Property focuses on trademarks, copyrights, plant varieties, patents, industrial designs, sanitary registrations, licenses and proceedings before INVIMA and ICA.
Alejandro has experience in matters related to the preparation, prosecution and filing of applications for trademarks, patents, plant varieties and industrial designs in Colombia and in the 23 Latin American countries. He is the person in charge of preparing legal opinions on anatomical components, marketing authorizations, medicines, medical devices, cosmetics, pesticides, hygiene products, food, beverages, consultations on sanitary and regulatory issues, and matters under the jurisdiction of INVIMA and ICA. Additionally, Alejandro assists in trademark searches, oppositions, and trademark portfolio appeals.
Before joining Posse Herrera Ruiz, Alejandro worked at the UN Refugee Agency, the Corporation Opción Legal and the Office of the Procurator-General of the Nation. Alejandro represented Colombia and reached the finals in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and won the Themis Moot Court before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San José, Costa Rica.
