CHANGES IN THE LAW OF PATENTS OF INVENTION AND UTILITY MODELS
The Patent Office of Argentina deletes some requirement in order to speed up the patent process
Since January 12th 2018, the law of patents of invention and utility model has changed some requisites.
The filing of the patent application does not require to submit the official translation of the priority document. It would only be required in the substantive exam if the examiner considers it.
Furthermore, the time to request the patentability exam was reduced to 180 days for patents counted from the filing date. However, the patent application of the utility models continues with the term of 3 months counted from the filing date for this request.
