Carolina Posada is a co-head of the Dispute Resolution practice at Posse Herrera Ruiz, with a focus on national and international arbitration.
She has over 26 years of experience in dispute resolution, before civil and administrative courts, as well as national and international arbitration tribunals. Her practice covers a wide range of areas, including contractual liability, tort, damages, insurance and reinsurance, distribution contracts, corporate and M&A disputes, construction and infrastructure, among others.
Carolina serves as an arbitrator for the primary arbitration centers in Colombia, including the main Chambers of Commerce and the Superintendence of Corporations. Furthermore, she is included on the rosters of the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration on (IACAC), AMCHAM Peru, and the Arbitration Center of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. She also serves as a sports arbitrator for the Dispute Resolution Chamber of the Colombian Soccer Federation. She has served as president, co-arbitrator, and sole arbitrator in numerous arbitration proceedings, both national and international, under the rules of several institutions.
She serves as a delegate for Colombia before the Commission on Arbitration and ADR of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), as a member of the Colombian Arbitration Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), of the Award Scrutiny Commission of CIAM-CIAR, and of the Latin American Arbitration Association (ALARB), Additionally, she has acted as an expert on Colombian law before state courts in the United States of America.
She is a frequent speaker at arbitration conferences and events in Colombia and throughout Latin America and is the author of numerous publications on arbitration.
She is recognized by Chambers & Partners as a Band 1 lawyer in Dispute Resolution and is regarded as a leader in her field by a number of prominent publications, including The Legal 500, Leaders League, Best Lawyers, Who’s Who Legal, and Latin Lawyers.
In 2019, Euromoney Legal Group named her the Best Litigator in Latin America.
