Eduardo Melo is an associate of Posse Herrera Ruiz in the Environment , Energy & Natural Resources.
Eduardo advises national and multinational companies in matters related to the development of power generation projects, including their planning or acquisition stages, due diligence, financing, construction and/or operation, in their transactional, contractual, and regulatory components.
Likewise, he advises companies on issues related to the regulation of the electricity market and the public utilities regime. On the other hand, he advises companies in the oil and mining sector in obtaining, executing, and enforcing exploration and exploitation rights, as well as in the development or acquisition of projects in these sectors. Finally, he has also been actively involved in advising mining, energy and oil and gas companies, as well as companies in the manufacturing and agricultural sectors, on environmental and social matters, particularly in connection with permitting procedures, regulatory compliance, prior consultation, and representation in sanctioning proceedings.
Prior to joining Posse Herrera Ruiz, he worked at a local boutique firm, advising companies on private and public law matters and on administration and dispute resolution issues, as well as at the Energy Directorate of the Colombian Ministry of Mines and Energy.
