Juan Carlos Castillo is an associate at Posse Herrera Ruiz since 2025. His professional practice focuses on Tax, Customs, and International Trade. 

Juan Carlos has experience advising domestic and foreign companies on tax and foreign exchange matters related to business operations and the tax planning of investment projects. He also has experience in the application of international double taxation conventions and free trade agreements. 

In the foreign trade and customs practice, he advises on import and export compliance, tariff classification, licenses, customs valuation, product classification, export structures, and the determination of preferential and non-preferential origin. Likewise, he supports clients in tax-saving and tariff-mitigation strategies through the use of free trade zones, customs warehouses, free trade agreements, and trade preference programs, as well as in trade remedy matters, including antidumping investigations and proceedings and safeguard measures. 

Before joining Posse Herrera Ruiz, Juan Carlos worked at a Fortune 500 multinational company in the Oil and Gas industry.
