Juan has over 12 years of experience advising clients on cross-border and domestic financing and corporate transactions (in Colombia and the U.S.). Juan’s practice is focused on representing financial institutions, sponsors, developers and borrowers from diverse industries —including energy, infrastructure and telecom— in complex financing structures such as project finance, acquisition finance, structured finance and corporate finance throughout Latin America, the United States and Europe. Juan also has significant experience in domestic and cross-border capital markets and M&A transactions.
Juan started his legal career in Posse Herrera Ruiz in 2013. Before re-joining the firm in 2023, Juan spent over 6 years as an associate in the New York offices of law firms Jones Day, Milbank LLP and Winston & Strawn LLP. He graduated as an attorney (J.D.) from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Bogotá, and obtained a master’s in law (LL.M.), with honors, from Columbia Law School, in New York City.
Juan is admitted to practice law in Colombia and the State of New York.
