Laura Vengoechea is a senior associate at the area of Dispute Resolution and her professional practice focuses on international and domestic arbitration.
Laura has more than 9 years of experience in domestic and international arbitration including international commercial arbitration under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Madrid International Arbitration Centre (MIAC), investment arbitration under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the ICSID Complementary Mechanism rules, in domestic arbitration in Chile under the CAM Santiago rules and in domestic arbitration in Colombia under the arbitration rules of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce and the Medellin Chamber of Commerce.
She has acted as tribunal secretary in international arbitration cases and has advised several clients on investment protection analysis for decision making regarding the initiation of investment arbitration and for corporate restructuring as a means for political risk mitigation.
Laura has worked as a foreign attorney at the International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution practice of Baker Botts, in London, and as foreign attorney at the Dispute Resolution practice of Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría, in Santiago de Chile.
Since 2018, Laura has been a Summer School Class Teacher on International Commercial Litigation and Arbitration at the London School of Economics and Political Science in London, United Kingdom.
