María Isabel Osorio is director of the Conflict Resolution practice at Posse Herrera Ruiz, where she focuses on arbitration.
With 20 years of recognized experience, she has participated in complex arbitrations and litigation of diverse nature related to, among others, contractual liability, abuse of rights, distribution schemes, corporate disputes, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), medical liability, and construction. In these matters, she has represented both local and foreign clients.
María Isabel has served as secretary in arbitration proceedings and amicable composition procedures and has been member of various clinical research ethics committees. She is currently arbitrator at the Center for Arbitration and Conciliation of the Bucaramanga Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to joining Posse Herrera Ruiz, she worked at various local firms and was partner at a boutique firm exclusively dedicated to arbitration.
In the academic field, she has been professor of subjects such as Obligations I, Obligations II, Contracts, and Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms at Universidad de la Sabana. Additionally, she has participated as author and co-researcher in various national and international publications.
She holds a law degree from Universidad de la Sabana and a specialization in Contract Law from Universidad del Rosario.
She has been admitted to practice law in Colombia since 2004.
