María Paula Piedrahita is an associate at Posse Herrera Ruiz since 2026. Her professional practice focuses on environmental law, energy law, and environmental risk management.
She has more than two years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance within the energy sector, particularly in highly regulated industrial environments. She has advised on the verification of legal requirements for energy projects, supported internal audits, participated in environmental and regulatory risk assessments, and assisted in the implementation and monitoring of environmental management systems under the ISO 14001 standard.
She has worked with clients in the energy sector, particularly in the nuclear power generation industry, supporting the structuring of compliance management plans, strengthening internal control systems, and integrating ESG and corporate sustainability criteria.
Before joining Posse Herrera Ruiz, she worked at the EDF Group, one of Europe’s leading electricity producers, where she served as an environmental regulatory compliance attorney at the Nuclear Fleet Directorate in France. During her studies, she completed her internship at IDEAM (Colombia) in the International Affairs Office and worked at law firms specializing in urban law.
