Mariana Sánchez is a partner at Posse Herrera Ruiz. Her professional practice has focused mainly on mining, energy, oil, gas, and infrastructure. She advises and represents national and international companies in their entrance into the Colombian market concerning the acquisition and operation of relevant endeavors for the country.
Mariana has successfully advised these players in regulatory, contractual, and transactional matters for the development, acquisition, financing, and operation of projects in the country, including those related to power generation from conventional and non-conventional sources, She also provides advice on cogeneration and self-generation undertakings.
Likewise, in coordination with national and international firms, Mariana has participated in several mergers and acquisitions of large companies and investors in these sectors.
Additionally, she has advised and represented companies of the energy industry in various administrative and litigation proceedings unto government agencies and third parties in order to obtain the regulatory authorizations required for the development of various types of projects as well as for the structuring and negotiation of contracts required for their development.
Mariana is a lawyer from Universidad del Rosario (COL) and has a postgraduate degree from Universidad de los Andes (COL). She has more than 24 years of experience and, before joining Posse Herrera Ruiz, she worked for other national and international law firms. She has been an in-house counsel for important national and multinational companies that undertake operations in these sectors in Colombia such as Grupo Trafigura, Winchester Oil and Gas, and Petrocolombia.
