PROSUR LAUNCHES NEW ONLINE PLATFORM TO FACILITATE TRADMEARK AND PATENT PROCEDURES
As a result of a joint effort between its members, PROSUR introduced its new platform (available in Spanish, Portuguese and English) which allows information exchange to facilitate collaboration, has tools to aid to classify goods and services (according to the Nice International Classification), offers the possibility of conducting public domain searches to confirm patent expiration and foresees a pilot agreement regarding the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH)
PROSUR is an agreement between Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay carried out to facilitate and optimize industrial property related processes, the transmission of knowledge and promote entrepreneurship. The platform and the agreement represent an important step for regional development.
