REGULATION OF THE MEDICAL AND THERAPEUTIC USE OF CANNABIS AND ITS DERIVATIVES
On May 16th Peru published the bill that regulates the medical and therapeutic use of cannabis and its derivatives (Law No. 30681)
This bill aims for the regulation of the dispositions provided in Law No. 30681 regarding cannabis’ medical and therapeutic use. Among other topics, this project provides three year validity period licenses for scientific research, import and/or commercialization, and production activities. These licenses may be renewed, according to the text.
The proposal also establishes that entities Digemid (General Directorate of Drugs, Supplies and Drugs) and INS (National Health Institute) shall be the ones in charge of registrations, depending on their corresponding faculties. Thus, the project provides registrations of patients, research institutions, and pharmaceutical establishments authorized and certifies for productions, import and commercialization.
