As part of the “yellow-level alert”, the municipality of Bogotá has forbidden any and all social with an agglomeration of 1,000 or more people in Bogotá. Nonetheless, after the declaration of the health emergency by the national government, any social event which could represent an agglomeration of more than 50 people (after an initial ban on 500 people) is forbidden in all of the country and all such scheduled gatherings will have to be cancelled or postponed.
The aforesaid measure has affected important festivals, concerts, and artistic, sports and business events in Colombia that were already scheduled, including: the Biennial IBA Latin American Regional Forum Conference in Cartagena, Inter-American Development Bank Annual Meeting in Barranquilla, soccer matches as part of the qualifiers round for the world cup, soccer matches of the national league, national International Book Festival, Vallenato Festival, Jamming Festival, Estereo Picnic Festival, and other social events such as Maroon 5’s concert and Michelle Obama’s conference.
Additionally, the government has declared the permanent closure of bars and night clubs as from March 16th, 2020.
