PHR acted as Colombian local counsel to Talanx Group in the acquisition of Liberty Mutual’s businesses in Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Ecuador. With this acquisition, Talanx becomes the third-largest insurer in Latin America through its subsidiary HDI International. The acquisition has been approved by the SFC and has been closed on March 1st, 2024.

Both the Superintendency of Industry and Trade (1 instance) and the Superior Court of Bogotá (on appeal) rejected the claims considering that the “prescripción” (statute of limitations) of the consumer protection action had operated to the extent that the facade is a non-structural element, which therefore is not covered by the ten-year guarantee of article 2060 of the Civil Code.

(“CdeCo”) listed company in the Colombian Stock Exchange (“BVC”) as consequence of the delisting procedure approved by CdeCo shareholders. SKG offered to buy 390.266 shares of Cartón de Colombia S.A and acquired after the OPA 20.537 shares, fulfilling with the prior requirement to delist Cartón de Colombia S.A shares of the BVC.

The issuance is backed by the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
